The Specification Writer will utilize knowledge of construction products, materials, and methods to write specifications for a variety of projects and building types including commercial office, education, healthcare, federal, industrial, and other building types. The selected individual will have a good working knowledge of building materials, systems, and techniques.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of specifications for multiple projects
Collaborate with the project manager and design team to ensure thorough and accurate preparation of the project manual
Interpret drawings and related project information to develop and edit project-specific specifications
Apply a thorough understanding of design requirements to translate project needs into clear, accurate specifications
Serve as a technical resource on products, materials, and standards, and maintain institutional knowledge.
Maintain current knowledge of industry reference standards and resources
Other duties as assigned

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
Proficient with Microsoft Word
Experienced with SpecLink software
Experienced with SpecsIntact software
Qualifications / Prior Experience
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, interior design, or related field
5 years of experience in specification writing
Experience writing specifications for federal projects
CSE Certification - CDT or CCS
